Bel-Ray Powersports Advances 4-Cycle Engine Oil Line with Comprehensive Reformulation

Forging Supply Chain Resilience Through Lubrication Strategy
June 22, 2026

Indianapolis, IN — Bel-Ray Powersports, a global leader in high-performance lubricants, today announced a significant advancement in its 4-cycle engine oil portfolio to reformulate more than 20 SKUs. This initiative represents one of the most comprehensive upgrades in the brand’s history and reinforces Bel-Ray’s commitment to performance, protection, and consistency in the most demanding riding conditions.

Most of our legendary 4-stroke powersports line, including EXL, EXP, EXS, Thumper®, and V-Twin, now meets or exceeds the current top-tier API SP standard and is JASO MA2 2023 registered.

The updated formulations are engineered to perform under high-load, high-RPM riding environments. Leveraging advanced additive technology, the new oils deliver industry-leading anti-wear protection, improved engine cleanliness, and maximum engine durability.

Riders will also benefit from optimized clutch friction for smooth, consistent engagement and maximized power output, ensuring reliable performance across both recreational and high-performance applications.

“This investment reflects our commitment to delivering consistent, high-performing products our customers can trust,” said Craig Paterson, VP Commercial, “We’ve elevated the entire 4-cycle lineup to meet the demands of today’s engines and riders.”
