Bel-Ray Racing-Weekend Racing Preview
Bel-Ray Racing-Weekend Racing Preview- February 17, 2012
Round 7 of the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross Series will take place on Saturday night in Dallas, Texas at Cowboy’s Stadium. The state of the art facility will host the world’s best supercross competitors including Bel-Ray’s teams of professional racers.
Leading the Bel-Ray racers is TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed. Fresh off his 2nd place finish on Saturday night in San Diego, Reed is looking to improve on that position this weekend. Currently six points behind the series' points leader, Reed sits in 2nd place as the series leaves the western United States and heads east.
A 5th place in San Diego was a career best 450 class finish for Dodge/Hart & Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel-Ray Racing’s Josh Hansen. Bouncing back from a DNF the week before, Hansen charged through the field to earn himself a great result. His San Diego finish vaulted him back into the top 10 in the season’s points standings. After an excellent 4th place finish in his heat teammate, Kyle Partridge, finished 19th in the main as he struggled to come to grips with the challenging track. Despite his 19th place finish, Partridge is still in the top 20 in the points, in 18th place.
Team Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki’s West Coast riders Martin Davalos and Jason Anderson will take a break, while Blake Wharton and Hunter Hewitt, both East Coast series competitors, begin their series. Industry insiders consider Wharton and Hewitt as podium threats each weekend, and both are looking to prove them right.
Bel-Ray privateer racer Ronnie Stewart has been competing each weekend in the west coast lites series. The Pennsylvania native has been living the privateer lifestyle, and has been a consistent qualifier into the night program, but has missed the main event each weekend. San Diego was Ronnie's closest finish all season as his missed qualifying by just one spot. As the east coast series begins, Stewart has switched to the 450 class. Look for the #606 Suzuki in action on Saturday night.
