Bel-Ray Racers Score Double Podiums at Toronto Supercross
The 2013 Monster Energy Supercross series continued on Saturday night at the Rogers Centre in Toronto Canada. Bel-Ray racers Davi Millsaps, Blake Wharton, Broc Tickle and Josh Hill all scored successful results during their respective main events.
In 450 class racing, Davi Millsaps put his Bel-Ray-sponsored Rockstar Racing machine near the front at the beginning of the main event. He quickly dispatched early leader Chad Reed and took control of the race. Cutting consistent laps, Millsaps regained his early season form and led until the half way point of the main event. He was eventually passed for the lead but held on to finish a strong second at the checkered flag. It was his 9th podium finish of the 2013 season. He remains second place in the series points standings, just twelve points out of the lead.
Bel-Ray-supported RCH Racing racers Broc Tickle and Josh Hill also scored excellent results in Toronto. Tickle’s 8th place finish matched his season’s best while Hill’s 13th was his third top 15 finish in a row. Tickle is now tied for 9th in the overall points standings while Hill sits just inside the top 20 in nineteenth.
In 250 class racing Blake Wharton rebounded from last week’s heart-breaking main event to score a 3rd place main event finish. He began the night with a successful victory in his heat race and continued with a strong start to the main event, settling into second place early in the race. He fell back to third just before mid-way and continued to hold that position until the checkered flag. This marked his third podium finish of the 2013 season and he continues to hold onto third in the series points standings.
